where to go from here in my life

I was in a rut last year in a boring samey job on a ridiculous wage.
Now I'm running one of the UK's largest MG Rover parts suppliers and have plenty of spare money. Life is what you make it - if you want to change it, change it.

30 is nowhere near too old for anything.

I am in freight forwarding and received a Bsc multimedia computing degree. Got a 2:1

Salary is really nothing to shout about but I've never been one to discuss numbers, just the way i was bought up i suppose. But it is low in most peoples opinion, bar the homeless and jobless

Oh and thanks for the advice.

The hardest thing is being able to walk to my current employment means i leave house at about 8:40 and get home by 6 most nights. Maybe I'm a little too comfortable here but it means i get more time with my family

if your salary is that low you might be better off on the dole and doing college courses at night whilst applying for jobs during the day.

ever done the maths to see how much worse off you would be?

We all want more, in fact that's what drove the 1980's and the Thatcher era, to own all of our own things, our dreams. You are a product of that era, like it or not, you are. You rent a house? So what mate, you have a home! You should not be beating yourself up about position in life, you have a home and a family, like you said, most aspects are great. Take comfort in that.

I made a big career shift at 27, so you are only a few years over that, there's been good advice in the thread so far, talk things out, take stock of where you are but also realise you are not past changing by any means, in fact, you are not even half way through changing.

As for what to do, you are not in a bad place, if you don't change anything that will stay the same, if you want change, then change some things slightly. Have you even applied for any jobs relating to your degree? Most learning is done on the job, fact. So being out of touch as you think, well think that, but if you have some common sense (and from reading your post and the fact you posted these questions, I think you do), you'll go a long way. It's tough to look inward and not be satisfied, I've been there too. Don't do it out of status though, do it out of passion.
Get your CV up for these guys to review, start applying, start changing if that's what you really want, no fear, just decisions and judgement on them.

Best of luck to you!
