Where to go in Switzerland

probably too late but I'd avoid the french parts like geneva... people their seem terribly rude even the conductors on the trains if you happen to speak english..

one even told me "we don't speak english in this country we speak german or french" my ticket was in english... the train announcements have multiple languages one being english, the ticket machines have an english language option..
Zurich is nice and rhein falls is only a short trip away on the train which is really impressive to visit.

expensive country though, mainly food costs or rent if you live there but public transport and the trains are reasonably priced.

if your looking for a bar avoid the places that say "kontakt bar" it basically means its a brothel with a bar. they seem to be everywhere

Well the conductor was wrong because we also speak Italian and Romansh too. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Only ever had good experiences in zurich kanton and with the swiss german train workers :D

in shops etc a lot of the time they recognise my english accent when I try to german and they usually respond in english to me with something like "oh, you can speak english" :D
Had a nice chat with a lady on the tills in the lidl near my GFs apartment, turned out the woman was american and hated Switzerland :O
dunno why since it's pretty awesome in the little city where my GF lives

interlaken and up to grindelwald. in grindelwald either go up First on the chair lift or up to kleine scheidegg by train / mannlichen by gondola on the other side. you can then travel down to wengen by train (kleine S) or cable car (mannlichen)

fantastic area with great views of the Eiger Monch and Jungfrau
