Where to go in the US for 2 weeks?

Due to yet more relationship troubles I've decided to get away for a couple of weeks. Never been to the US before and always wanted to go.

Budget would be £1500 each (2 people travelling)

I'd like to see the sights and have an awesome time!

I'm really rubbish at planning holidays so hook me up people

Do you pre book all the travel or just do it on the fly?

Mate I've had a shocking few days. An awesome time means just that. I wont settle for a great or amazing time, it has to be AWESOME
