Where to live for commute to Westminster?

Have a look at Oxted Warlingham Sanderstead that train line goes straight to Victoria in 30 minutes

I work in Westminster and train it in everyday I live further out but the trains are reliable and decent not like sw trains

The parking might be the biggest issue (i.e. you're unlikely to get a garage although off-street parking is do-able) but West Dulwich or Penge are both easy commutes to Victoria (less than 20 minutes for either on a train) and from there it's about a 15 minute walk to Westminster or you can get the Circle/District line if you're feeling particularly lazy and like fighting through commuters for the sake of a few stops.

How about Bromley/Eltham/Chislehurst area?

Only 15/20mins into London Bridge for the Jubilee line and then its only another 10 minutes to Charing Cross with a stop at Waterloo inbetween.

Also lots of other good transport links to areas such as Greenwich/Bexley with lots of shops etc to keep the missus happy :)

And just to add Bluewater shopping center is 10mins away in a car and 20 by train

No further North/East than Junction 19 of the M25
No further South/East than Junction 9 of the M25

I used to train it into Charing cross for my Whitehall job. Lived in Bexley (still do). Nice area, good transport, nice restaurants, good internet and handily placed for quick access to the A2/M25. About 10 mins drive from Bluewater and the Greenwich/o2 arena. Greenwich is up there with Hampstead Heath as one of the finest summer spots in London with the park, pubs, markets and river cruises.

Watford is not bad for commuting - some of the trains can get to Euston in 15 minutes! Have you thought about cycling the rest with a folding bike etc?
