where to look for renting property?

I find the internet is fine for getting a general idea of prices and things, but everything seems to be gone by the time you enquire about it. The best luck I've had when house-hunting was by going into estate agents, speaking to the rental department and seeing what they've got there and then.

yeh gum tree have a bristol section :). Thanks filled out some forms for diffrent agents.

Is it 25% of council tax for living on your own.

and what do you reckon on bills. 1/3rd less than what I'm paying at the minute(2people down to one).

more like 1/2 as lights ect will still be used, line rental and intenret bills wil be the same

Which would suggest a third less rather than half the price was a far more sensible starting point? I'd agree with 1/3 if you and your flatmate have similar working times.

My missus is in all day with TV and heating on, so that makes a big difference to utilities bills over a single proffessional.

Yeh we both work days (mostly). Things like fridge will be on, heating will still be the same, but lights and computers won't be as much.

Does this look about right?

For 1 person?

Water looks high, but rest is reasonable, especially if you like your gadgets.

25% discount on sole occupancy for your council tax should bring that down? assuming Band A or B.

oh yeh calculated council tax wrong it should be £90.

I've taken what we pay for water at the moment and chopped a 1/3rd off. He usually gets a shower down the gym. So I don't think I should take any more off.
