Where to stay in Dubai

Hey guys,

Currently planning a nostalgic trip to Dubai, last time i was there was back in 1998 when there was only a few hotels on jumeirah beach and the burj al arab was just a metal shell. Been having a look on airline network and there are so many to choose from now. Can anyone recommend a decent five star hotel, I quite like the look of the Shangri-la having stayed in a few of their hotels across asia I know they have a decent quality of service. So any recent vistors where did you stay and what did you think?

Hope someone can help because all I have to go on is pictures.

Ok so £2300 for 7 nights including flights is a little out of budget was planning on going for seven days, theres a deal for the jumeirah beach hotel for £953 including flights, I would say my max would be £900 but i've heard a lot of good things about this hotel and its been there for ages so its a strong contender, plus its five star deluxe which is better than everything else on offer. Apart from the burj al arab obviously.

Sounds good, i am well aware of the major construction work going on along the beach which is why i'm a bit skeptical about staying there, in all honesty i don't see it as much of a problem i just don't want to pay for a room with a view and get a contruction site. The jumeirah beach hotel looks fantastic so thats definately a few more points scored, thanks for the comments thus far
