Where would you emigrate to?

After finishing my degree, I fully intend to head off and live in China. Not sure where, but I'm fairly certain it wont be Beijing.

After that, I'd like to either follow through with learning Spanish and head to South America, or try to pick up some basic Khmer and get a placement of any sort back in Cambodia. I'd also like to take up Russian, Arabic and Japanese, but I'm going to try to keep it vaguely realistic :p I don't see myself sticking around in the UK, but I equally can't picture living my whole life in one particular other country, I need to keep on the move for a while at least. There's a lot of places in the world that I've been to briefly (~1 month), but I'd like to try living in some of them to see how different the experience is.

I have nothing against the UK at all, and appreciate all it's given me in terms of education and comfort, but there's a big old world out there to get myself around, and I feel no obligation to stick about here.
 
Where? Los Alcazares on the Mar Menor in Southern Spain. Why? - It is a unique area,within the region of Murcia, just above the city of Cartagena. Few regions have both a saltwater lake and a Mediterranean shore - With over 3000 hours of sunshine a year and the mild climate, the water there can reach 30º in August.:cool: and alas, the UK from what I see of it (which is an awful lot!) is choking up with traffic & people & morally going down the pan rapidly.

Were taxed to death from all sides, fed crap from our leaders and I've come to the view that lifes too short to put up with our climate!

Not to mention I already have access to property over there already (in the family) and regular work driving HGV's from Spain to the UK and back. :)

Within 3 years is my aim.......

I did move over to Vancouver a couple of years ago and its great, all I really miss from the UK is family, friends and the pub. The pub is definately not as popular as going for coffee here but at least coffee is a little healthier. There is also a lot more to do than where we used to live in the UK. I am going skiing again next weekend at Whistler, my 2nd time this year, have also been up one of the local mountains and to Mt Baker is the US this year. The seawall around downtown Vancouver is amazing for walking, running, rollerblading cycling. People are also generally more pleasant and polite than in the UK.

And it's happening next Xmas time! Parents, me + brother are moving out. Looking at the Bay of Plenty area, somewhere on the coast.

Can't wait for it, I'm just looking forward to getting out there, working in a decent job using my degree, and picking up a load of hobbies (snowboarding, mountainbiking, climbing, kayaking, surfing, bungee jumping).

I wanna be out there tomorrow.

Excellent, looks a great part of NZ, not too far from where we'll be in Auckland.

Currently living in Switzerland. A great country a huge step up from the UK. Still, I think when my time is up here I will go to Canada and then perhaps NZ. I will then be able to make a choice(lived in California before this).

PR visa?

Our application is gnna be under my mum. Apparently once we've applied it should only take a few weeks for them to accept us? She's got enough points (maths degree, PGCE, and 5 or so years experience teaching).
 
I was born in Aus although don't remember it, but my sister has just moved back there and she is loving it. Definitely something to consider in the future.
 
I sometimes think to myself, is it really going to be as great as I imagine it to be? I hope it is... I feel sometimes that I've convinced myself that I can't stand this country and I'm going to love NZ, but will that be the case? I loved what I saw of the country, but it was a 1 month holiday - you do fun and new things every day.

I guess I'll only get out of it what I put into it, will just have to make the effort to enjoy the country and activities/hobbies/sports that aren't possible here.

And, although I've not experienced first hand yet what it's like to be earning a full income and having to pay bills etc, from what I've gathered it works out a lot cheaper there, than here. (Probably because income tax is higher - 19.5% up to $38,000 - 33% between 38,001 and 60,000 - 39% above 60,001.)
 
I'd love to move to Canada, but really don't know yet.
So far i've lived in 4 different countries (Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg and the UK), and found Luxembourg to be by far the best country.
If I could get a job there that pays well, i'd be back there in a second!
But Canada sounds great too, might go there for holiday next year and see if it's my cup of tea.
