I bought an Acer Predator XB272 240hz just a year ago.

Although I can't really find fault when I'm playing the likes of Overwatch I'm veering more towards SP games again so thought I'd like to get myself a 1440p monitor.
Wouldn't like to go above £400 TBH.
Build quality/stand etc aren't as important to me as essentials such as low blur. I'm guessing a TN will be the path to go.
Planning on upping from my GTX1070 (non Ti) to a n RTX 2080(non Ti) to drive it.
Any recs?

BTW my son is gaining himself a nice new 240hz monitor. The lucky little bleeder.

Quite like the look of that Sammy but reading that there's ghosting with snail trail is a deal breaker for me.
The Dell is currently the fore runner.

Actually, scratch the above...

Acer have two interesting looking IPS panels both 2560x1440, 144 hz both with freesync

VG27oup £369.99

XV272UP £459.99

Acer seems to have gone with some form of limited release, available in a couple of places and seems to be no reviews yet.

My money is sitting waiting for some reviews as they are both well priced, XV272UP has almost identical specs to the Aorus AD27QD which is selling for around £540 (acer stand is not as adjustable).

I think both use new panels, worth wait for reviews in regard to response times to see if they are as good as more mature I.P.S panels.

The XV272UP has really piqued my interest.

I quite liked the look of the Nixeus/Pixio efforts as they package the age old AUO panel in with variable overdrive freesync for a reasonable price, but they essentially don't exist over this side of the pond.

Yeah, that IS a bummer.

Anyone querying the Dell S2719DGF,

I bought mine a few days ago, and can honestly say it's worth the money. If you intend to use it with a Nvidia card, I can confirm it works fine. I've tried 10 games, and after a quick restart all work with G-Sync. I'll be uploading a video on YouTube later, with actual footage as I'm aware that there's practically nothing for the monitor available. My username is Nick Hornby

Hope it helps. Cheers
Well appreciated Nick, thanks.
Can you let us know when it's up and link to it?

Edit----

Found it, thanks man.

Thx dude.
I always enable Vsynch in NVCP for Gsync anyway so that's kinda normal for me.
Glad the monitor's working good with the VRF on nvidia though.

Did you go for the Dell in the end @Teh_Next

Just purchased it myself and arrives tomorrow.
Still to hit the buy button mate. Ended up spending the money on something else that popped up but I should be ready to buy again at the end of this month or next at the latest.
Hope you like the new monitor though. Will you share your findings?

Ordered the Dell today. I debated with myself until I was sick to the back teeth...ips or tn... Was tempted by the above mentioned Acer but decided I couldn't live with slower response times, I just can't stand blurring. So the Dell got the vote with the wallet. I'll update my amatuer opinions but just wanted to thank everyone who had contributed to this thread for all the input and sharing of information.

Makes me feel a bit relieved.
The Dell arrives on Saturday, which is nice timing to have a good session or three with it at the weekend.

Monitor arrived.
Fired it up, no messing with settings and straight into a game of Overwatch. Initially thought yellows were a bit meh but hey ho, played a game and got an 18 kill streak. Told myself this is pure placebo. Played another game 19 kill streak. Played another game with response upped to fast and overclocked to 155hz, a frame limit of 152, free/Gsync on (gtx 1070) and got a 17 player kill streak and a quintuple kill. Yeah, hooray for new monitors making you think you play better.
I do think it feels smoother than the XB272 @ 240hz and colours appear more vibrant. Feels responsive and didn't notice any skipping.
Good experience so far. Have to say though I expected (don't know why) a DP cable but it came with an HDMI.

Youngest son is delighted with the 240hz monitor, going from a 22" ancient Hans Gee 60hz job. He offered me £100 from his Christmas money he has saved back. I took, then gave him £50 back and I will treat the whole family to a meal tonight from the local Chinese take away with the other £50.

I'll give him the other £50 in a month or so as well.

Good to know:).

Killing some time reading the thread. D.P.D just came a knocking moments ago.

w00t! w00t!

I'm starting to settle on RTS mode, the colours are really vibrant and some may find them cartoonish but I like it. For the mean time anyway.
