Hi all,

I have just build an INtel Core 2 duo based system with a a Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA2 hard drive.

Anywho, just installed windows and it will only recognise 130GB of my 250GB hard drive.

can anyone help?

Yes but you will have to make the rest of the space another partition. I think you could use partition magic to stitch the partitions together though.

so once i get windows xp SP2 installed it will recognise the whole drive?
You just need to get & install SP2 (Windows update). Then like said use either PQMagic or Acronis Disk Director (here) to repartition, resize, merge, etc :)

ahh think i got the same problem here wit ha WD caviar 250gig sata drive, when i boot off the cd it has one partition of around 130gig? so when i up grade to sp2 it will see the rest?

Its always best to integrate SP2 into windows install, that way you can set your partitions etc in the dos based portion of windows setup. I find it also makes for a lot less hassle in other areas. www.nliteos.com ... download, integrate SP2, and give it a whirl. Always works best for me.
