As title really, is there such thing?

Im wanting to have a tase of whey protein in the strawberry/chocolate/bannana etc flavours and its wiser to try the small sachets then spend £15 per tub!

Any info appriciated. :).

I've tried to have a look but can't come across any? Wondering if one of you guys have it to hand. :)

Thanks.

On most of them if you select the protein you want to sample, click on the arrow where it says AMOUNT 1kg and if you go up then there's an option for 100g and you'll only be charged a minimum amount.

Try it on this screen http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-powders/protein-powders/calcium-caseinate/

For some reason it doesn't work on them all, I'll raise this question with them and see what they say... probably just a bug.

Hey

Ah right I see, cheers for that - thought there was a section saying "protein sample sachets" or something :).

Is Calcium Caseinate better than the Impact Whey they have? If so what benefits? (Or was that just an example?)

I'm looking to get several samples of them all to try and see what tastes best... I've tried to look on the Impact Whey but like you say I cant select 100g, only 1Kg.

If you can let me know what they say that'd be great.

Cheers,
Gangster.

Just buy bulk unflavored and then you can mix it however you want (cocoa powder, sugar free crusha etc). From MP, the best flavor to have is chocolate smooth, in my opinion, but it's not worth the extra money from using bulk unflavored.

Also, the main difference between whey protein (isolate and concentrate) and milk protein (caseinate) is the rate of absorption. Whey (when mixed with water) goes to your muscles much quicker, so is perfect to drink straight after the workout. Caseinate is a slower absorption protein which means it's better to have it before bed so you have a slow release of protein throughout the night. If you buy whey and mix it with milk this slows the rate of absorption down so this is OK before bed too, but just not as good as casein.

Plus casein is very gritty and horrible to drink, and whey is lovely (when done right...!)

www.boditronics.co.uk will send you samples of their protein. Best flavored whey out there, in my view.

Hey fus

thanks for the reply.

I have a big tube of unflavoured whey as I had been told that it can taste nice when you mix your own combo. However I've tried most of the combinations of drink etc with the whey protein and I hate the taste of it. By hating the taste, I mean I've tried to throw it down and pretty much brung it all back up. Thats why I wanted to try to find sample sachets in diffrent flavours to save me from buying tubs and then not liking them.

Thanks for the clearup on the casein and whey :)

what exactly have you tried in it?
i dont get how it can be that bad, when flavoured you dont even taste the whey!

I have tried; water, water + nesquick,milk, milk + nesquick,orange juice

Thats all I can really 'afford', taste wise for it to be affordable in the long run. It probably would tase ok with like a PJ Smoothie but I dont have that kind of money.

The unflavoured whey I have just smells, and is awful to drink.

Hope I'm not comming across as rude, but I'd like the thread to stay on topic for sample sachets - not a debate of 'omg this guy dont like whey, rofl etc'

honestly, there are more things out there than nesquick.
try any of the 'options' range or other chocolate powders

If you mix plain whey then I don't see how you can dislike it (I think it almost tastes nice).

The Milk protein (caseinate I think) stuff on the other hand leaves a real horrible film in your mouth!

Hey Morba,

To be honest I looked at your reply and thought - it cant taste that much better than anything else I have tried.

However I mixed 25G of Whey with 11G of Options Chocolate, and 300ml semi skimmed milk, and it doesnt actually taste that bad. Ok its not nice, but for me its now drinkable. I think a little more chocolate should almost 'overpower' the whey.

With Whey, is there an 'ideal' time to finish the drink up in? I.e: within 20 mins etc?

glad you have found something to help it go down :]

you must have strong taste buds in the region that picks up the taste of whey!
i generally only use 1 teaspoon of options or nesquik, think thats about 5g. no harm in using a little more than 11g though imo.
re: time to drink... get it down you :p no point in letting it stand.
if its post workout then its best to just down in :]

Try a spoonful of Splenda in it. I find it makes it much nicer. I have never used options though so don't blame me if it goes horribly wrong! :p

To get it down make up something like this.

250ml Full fat milk.
Whey powder.
2 Eggs
Then Flavour(I use Vanilla essence or horlicks)

Lots of Protien and it covers up the whey taste:)
