Which 106's could beat a 306 DTurbo?

i have seen a 106 gti make a 300bhp astra look a lot slower than it actually is. they really do move.
screw mod it and nothing will over take you i speak from expeeriance of tuning diesels muahaha once there behind they dont dare come close enough to overtake from the smoke!

Well most fresh in my mind was a Saxo VTR a few weeks back on a sliproad, and I had a Corsa SRI once for what it's worth
Most the time I dont bother, it's just for the grin factor of beating one slow car in another equally slow car

Can't speak for the Corsa, but the VTR is definately quicker to 60 than 10 seconds, if driven properly.

Perhaps the engine was knackered after years of being thrashed :)

Hehe wouldn't surprise me, I know I gave mine some abuse over the couple of years I owned it ;)

my saxo has been to 60 in high 8s and its standard to my knowledge.

Worked hard to do that mind, but its reproducible in the dry.

(measured with a GTech meter or something)

EDIT: Should say its the 2001 one with 100hp (as opposed to pre-99 with 90hp)

My friends saxo of the same age pulled off a similar time so I'll agree with you on that one. They seem a big improvement over the 90bhp ones.

arent the MkIV Golf GTI 2.0 0-60 in 10 secs too? not sure if they are 8v though, i shouldnt have thought so?

Volkswagen Golf GTi 2.0 (mk4) 02 115bhp 1153kg 101.34bhp/ton 10.21 0-60 33.33 0-100
