Any recommendations on how I should choose a 1080 for watercooling?

I see OC also sell GPU with waterblocks attached, is there any benefit to this?

Also, are all waterblocks the same standard for connections, positioning etc?

thanks

I would steer clear of pre installed blocks as they seriously narrow your market for resale. I would also advise on a reference PCB as blocks are easier to source and resale.

Grab a cheap reference PCB card for putting a block on. EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI have all stated that they allow waterblock installation without voiding warranty.

Other manufacturers haven't shown such keenness, however I would recommend just not telling them and if the card has a warranty void sticker on a screw then using needle nose plyers to remove the screw without damaging the sticker.

I love EKWB blocks and they often have the widest selection of custom blocks. Check whether there is a block for your card here: https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/

+1 :D

OP, I'm considering the EVGA Superclocked. Great warranty, reference PCBs and stick the air cooler back on when it's time to sell on, and the warranty will pass to the second hand user.

That is the one I went for, 46 days ago :D

EK do a range of blocks for custom cards - I've gone with EK for my Strix cards and they look lovely. Will fit them in a week or two once i'm happy the Strixes are stable.
