I usually game on a 60hz 4K IPS panel. But really want to give a try to 144hz gaming. I am interested in 1440p 144hz IPS panels. I am aware of these two with 1440p IPS panels at 144hz and above:

- Predator XB270HU 27" 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync 144Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor

- PG279Q ROG Swift 27" 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync 165Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor

Are there any other 1440p IPS panels that I should give consideration to? I am not too fussed about G-sync as at such high refresh rates, it may not have any meaningful contribution.

Are there any 144hz 3440x1440 144hz panels available?

The real problem is getting a good one. The only options are riddled with faults like dead pixels and backlight bleed. All the 1440, 144hz gsync monitors have them. That's why they call it the monitor lottery :(

Quite surprising that quality control on these premium products is so bad

The Predator XB271HU revision is meant to be much better. The mount the screen differently which was the cause of the big bleeds people were having.

Worth a shot. Overclockers don't sell it yet but you can get it elsewhere in the UK

As mentioned, the Acer XB271HU is SAID to be an improvement... not that it can be any worse than the XB270HU. I went through x4 of those myself, all terrible, and the PG279Q is no better by most accounts. The XB271 has a slightly different backlight assembly though apaprently, which is said to improve BLB. It's been available in the US for a couple of months now, and I have seen some bad ones from users on other forums, so it's by no means a guarantee, but of all the 1440P IPS 144Hz G-Sync monitors, it probably offers the best odds... it's just not widely available in the UK yet.

As mentioned, there are no 3440x1440 144Hz panels available yet (although some are in the pipeline). These will require DP 1.3, which won't be available until Pascal/Polaris cards are released, so it means buying a new GPU as well... £££!!

If you want ultrawide, the Acer X34 or upcoming Asus PG348Q are worth considering if you have the cash to splash, but be aware these are using older panels heavily overclocked, with a max of 100Hz, so it may not be what you're after.
