Which 160gb music + backup drive??

Well, it needs to be fast quiet and reliable. The samsungs quiet but isnt the deskstar faster? O well, someone spec me a good 160gb hard drive.

Fast is a relative term - Seagates are slow drives, yet the most reliable and one of the quieter drives, however slower is by milliseconds and would only be noticed by an HDU-o-phile. Real world, I challenge anyone to notice the difference.

seagate or spinpoint? they need to be sata?

which one. I need a quiet reliable drive then.. and what is the difference in loudness between the seagate and spinpoint

I can vouch for the quietness of Samsung.

Bought a 160GB spintpoint almost 2 years ago and its still running strong and silent. So is my 1 month old 250GB sata spinpoint.

As well as my Raptor I have a Samsung and they are very quiet. No probs with that drive

Well my seagate is very quiet (Seagate 7200.8 250GB SATA).
