OK a friend is after a 19" LCD although he does not want widescreen. I am completely out of touch with the world of computer parts now a days so I am asking you fine people! :D

Price? I guess around 100 notes. :)

By the way he plays games quite a lot so something with that in mind would be great.

if hes playing games, he will want a widescreen. Theres no point in 4:3 screens anymore, since you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage since you cant see as much of the screen.

Xerox/Phillips do quite a nice glass-fronted 19'' 4:3, my boss has one.

But yeah, widescreen = win.

A widescreen that pivots (portrait / landscape) seems like the best of both worlds.

BTW - When people talk about 4:3 panels, a lot of the time you are actually talking about 5:4 panels (1280x1024)

can do tht on my benq, cant say i ever used it coz of all the cables in the back its a pain in the butt to do.

Right guys I just found another contender. The iiyama ProLite E1902S it has both digital and analogue inputs as opposed to just analogue on the Samsung and has a better pixel response of 2ms vs the 5ms of the Samsung.

Two questions, anyone know what the build quality of iiyama's is like? Also the iiyama comes with crappy built in speakers, I presume these can be turned off?
