its good when it works. I've just got one and getting it to run in the correct resolution is difficult as the drivers do not add the resolution you need to the display settings so you have to make a custom resolution. Also the DVI on my monitor doesn't work, so its probably faulty which means I'll have to contact Samsung for a replacement. Good job they give you a 3 year swap out warranty. They will come to you to collect the faulty monitor and replace it with a new one if need be. So I've been told anyway. Even on VGA though running in the correct res, looks awesome, but beware the problems! Also the whole S and A panel thing is annoying too. Knowing my luck Samsung wil come and replace this monitor with an A panel. Maybe its best contacting OcUK first rather than Samsung?

I have just bought a 226BW and it is amazing for its price (a league of its own)

There is some confusion if it is 6 bit or 8 bit, i think it must be 8 bit (16.7 million colours)

Some reviews gently gripe that you cant view the screen to well from above or below or, indeed, far away. I disagree with the latter, because you can clearly see it from a far but do agree about the (very slight) above and below view points - but is this really a problem, the only difference i notice is when i stand up to make a brew, i am immediately above the monitor, but i would never work standing up at the computer.

Seriously, the 226BW is a quality monitor for this price bracket.

but check your specs for your needs, only VGA and DVI ports here.

Consider the 21" 215TW if your budget allows. review link

I'm getting the 226bW and to get round the non-adjustable stand I'm getting a ergotron neo-flex stand for it.

Good luck trying to get any kind of support from ocuk.

thanks for making me feel better. This was my damn birthday present as well, is it really asking for much to having a working DVI input!!?

okie, i've shortlisted 3 models to choose, but not sure which to get as yet..

1) Samsung 226BW
2) Dell E228WFP
3) LG L226WT

Here in singpapore the samsung and LG is priced at the same price, while the Dell is SGD$100 cheaper..

Is the samsung the best of those 3?

going purely by what OTHER people have said who have compared them, the sammy comes out on top. IF you get a good one.

i'm intending on gettin that too, but the pixel policy is quite bothering me, Samsung says it only covers bright pixel with 1-1 exchange for the first 7 days, so if i were to get a dead pixel, i'm getting no exchange ..
