well my old 19" CRT seems to be dying on me goes pitch black abit a white line across the screen for hours it was a quality Mitsubishi Diamond Pro think maybe trinitron tube? not sure anyways

i i cant really afford the dell 24" but im looking for a quality 22" and would like some advice.

my budget is around £200-£250

ive basically been considering the models below.im pretty poor so this screen will be used for linking to a DVD player for blu-ray/hd-dvd watching and gaming on a 8800 GTX. so i need HDCP over the dvi and quality picture with no ghosting. and preferably an 8bit panel for 16.7m colours.1:1 mapping would also be nice

Dell E228WFP 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor £252.61 inc VAT

LG L226WTQ 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver £205.61 inc VAT

Samsung SM-226BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black £281.99

and two LG screens that are monitor combos for television etc.

LG 22LS4R 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor with TV Tuner - Black £246.74
LG M228WA 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor with TV Tuner - Black £234.99

this is a maze to me right now but personally with the samsung panel lottery and the price i dont think i can justify taking the chance on iti have no idea what stock ocuk have right now or if i would even get a numbered panel at all.

i havent really considered the other two LG combo screens much i would have thought they would not be that good for pc gaming as the DELL or the other LG WTQ model.

but im mostly torn between the dell and the LGL226WTQ.the lg seems good the only thing i dont like is the 6 bit TN panel i believe the DELL uses a higher quality 8 bit screen or am i wrong?i havent really heard much buzz about that dell model either but convince me if u can!

or should i go for the combo screen the specs seem really good with the high 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio's but hey thats why ive posted.

so good folks of the ocuk forums can u help me about with this final jigsaw in my gaming/mutlimedia monster pc? :)

yea after reading up on the viewing angles now from TN i do tend to sit down low on my chair watching movies :p

the dell seems good to me higher quality panel and 1:1 mapping and inputs for say ps3 720p blue ray movies etc but at only 20" im not too sure personally.

the price is like £260 and the dell and benq 24" now around the £420 mark on offers ><

cant decide weither to save for the 24 or plump up for the 20" i have a 8800gtx but im more interested in having a 1080p screen linking up to a external blue ray player.

deciding on which 24" is a totally diff matter tho as which i wont get into.it more comes down to now for me is 20" widescreen big enough and is 720p good enough compared to 24" gaming and 1080p movies.

oh decisions

yeah the dell price on thier homepage is just awful.

squiffy dont bother with 16ms dont think its G2G but it matches almost the other panels and from what ive read there aint no ghosting. this one uses a superior panel to the other models i think.

anyone got any pics of just how big a 20" widescreen is to the 24"?

i cant help but think 19" CRT atm to 20" wise might seem kinda small for movies

if i decide 20" is enough this is my screen to choose now it will be the 2007wfp.

ah well never mind i today ordered the benq 24" for £450 kinda thought 20" might be small i cant afford the 24" really its just more debt but hopefully its worth it
