Which 22"?

seen the dell 22" and the samsung 22" up and running. Both very good and neither should show any ghosting really on anything outside first person shooters.

On paper that LG looks a bargain; 2ms response, 3000:1 contrast , DVI+VGA input.... all for under 200 quid.

I was going to get this but chose to get the Dell as there was issues with the LG ghosting really badly, however it was only certain models doing it. If you want the LG I would suggest doing some research into which models dont ghost.

bought a Sammy 226BW yesterday and have to say am delighted with it. although apparently it only does 60hz refresh as i am finding out?!

Can you link to some proof of this?

nine out of 28 monitors, three out of nine manufacturers here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=9767500 - are claiming contrast ratios greater than 1000:1.

anything quoted like that is based on dynamic contrast ratio figures only, not really relevant to actual contrast ratio in practice. this article explains some more and is worth a read. In reality, TN Film panels (all 22" models are TN based at the mo) can't really offer any more than ~1000:1 in practice. VA matrices can reach up to around 1500:1 and IPS are limited to more like 800:1 without and dynamic contract measurements

ps, to OP, this article discusses some of the best current 22" models :)

I cant really understand why people choose Dell and Sammy over the LG, the only difference really is price and for most peoples gaming needs their is never really any difference.

i bought LG and its a great Monitor, not problems what so ever response time and colors are great, only whine i have is that the "EZ Zoom" button is pretty useless but its out of sight underside it.

get the LG.
