Why not get a cheap SATA PCI card (can get them for £10-15 if you look around), and then get a 500gb western digital AAKS drive (£65) IDE drives seem to be quite a bit more than sata ones, ok the 250-320gb are similiar price but surely in the future your going to want to upgrade your PC anyway?
Yup, you might need to change the boot order in bios to make sure it boots from SATA first but its nothing special. Also when you install windows on the sata drive you will need to press F6 to install the PCI SATA controllers drivers - however if you get a "XFX REVO 64 SPU 3 Port SATA Raid Card" it doesn't require any drivers at all
