Which 2gb DDR for 260mhz?

is your cpu at 10x260 because thats the starting point, you'll need 260fsb to run your ram 1:1 with it.

Answer to your second question, I don't think there is a cheap option unless you count the £160 I just spend on gskill HZ as cheap (which tbh for a 2gb kit I do).

Finally, performance gain... probably noticeable in benchmarks but everyday usage?? doubtful.

My gskill hz came yesterday, straight in at 261x10 at 3-4-4-8 stock volts. Very happy.

well I might get the g skill.

will i notice a boost in games?

my geil value ram is running at 220 mhz on a 166 divider cpu at 2.6ghz

should i just keep my geil value ?
or should i strive for 1:1? and get the g skill

i could sell my geil 2 gig kit or is there not much point?

I'm going to be a hypocrit here and say for an extra 40mhz its probably not worth it.. although I just made the swap for an extra 15mhz :p

it depends on what your geil is worth.. wouldn't like to hazzard a guess on that.
 
Well have just installed the Gskill 4000 HZ and got this when running a read test in Everest

It seems I have better read access than DDR2 running at 667 mhz:)

Is this a good score?

Sorry you are getting mixed up, The A64 can't use .5 Multipliers the ram latency is not affected by the CPU's memory controller.
 
holy thread revival! nearly 7 months between posts!

yeah I unmuddled my head over this one a long time ago, bought some Gskill HZ, sold the HZ and bought some ocz platinum, had a vapochill LS, a mach 2 GT, then sold it all and bought a shuttle.

A lot happens round here in 7 months ;)
 
You will really struggle to get a 2gb kit at 2,2,2,5 at 200mhz. Really surprised you couldnt manage 240 at 3,3,3,8 with the corsair 3500ll sticks. Most people get them up to 280 at those timings and also nearly 240mhz at 2,3,2,5. I couldnt get my 3500ll sticks stable at 223mhz 2,3,2,5. Spent ages tweaking it and managed to lower other timings to make them faster which improved stability but after changing drive strength to 6 they clocked right up to 225. Havent taken them further but gonna have a go later to see what they will do. Theres a few points in the thread below about these modules

I've finally taken the plunge and bought some HZ stuff this afternoon. The price is very good! Will be hoping for 260ish, but I'm thinking I'll have to use a divider to hit 275Mhz, which is what I am running atm. :)

Now stable at 238 2,3,2,5, 1t. Will keep pushing them further.
 
Hi , i am running Mushkin red at 260 @ 3-3-2-8 1T, but thats about it even relaxing timings they wont go any higher

Pitiful clocks. What do yours do at 2,3,2,5 - havent taken mine above 238 yet. Mine wouldnt run at 200 at 2,2,2,5 but didnt try any tweaking as needed 238 out of them which i knew they wouldnt do at 2,2,2,5. For a 2gb set that must be close to wr for 2,2,2,??? timings

Yeah its not beneficial to run on 0 - 5 and 6 put put the same speed for me when at 2,3,2,5 or 2,3,2,6 according to everest
