Hi,
I'm looking to buy a 32" 4K IPS 120Hz+ monitor for competitive MP FPS and SP gaming. 120Hz is fine, anything above is a bonus, I only want 120Hz for MP gaming, as I tend to aim for the highest graphic settings in SP games over high FPS.

I'm currently considering either of these, but unsure which to go for. However, if there is another alternative 32" 4K IPS, please recommend it :)

The ROG on paper, should be the better monitor, given the price difference - it is currently around the same price as the AOC.

I dislike how heavy/large the ROG is, and how far it'll stick out from my wall mount, but I could get over it.

I am leaning towards the AOC however, due to some reviews claiming that the ROG is not as responsive when it comes to competitive FPS; so is more suited towards casual high FPS SP games, which surprised me considering the claimed spec?

The AOC is lighter/flusher against the wall, and reviews well for competitive FPS. I mainly play SP games, but I do play COD daily, so it would be nice to have something that does it all.

I've had AOC's in the past, and never had a bad word to say about them, so I cant loose if I go for the AOC, but I wondered if anyone here has the ROG, and can sway me?

The LG 32GR93U-B would be a great third option, until it fails, which according to a large amount of buyer's reviews, seems to be inevitable; be it a complete screen failure, pixel issues, or dull dim areas on the screen - so that's not something I'm whiling to risk.

What would you buy?

Thanks :)

Looking at the monitors you proposed, it seems they can be found at ~500 GBP.
For that same price, there are OLED options, which are objectively better. For example, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...nc-hdmi-2.1-gaming-monitor-mon-aoc-02936.html.

I've been running an Aorus FO32U2P for a total of 2778hrs, I love it.

Unless you need IPS for some reason, I'd tend towards the OLEDs options (: I use mine for mostly work and a bit of gaming, no issues.

Thanks!

That looks very tempting and I don't mind paying a bit more TBH.

I just chose IPS, as I will be using it as a PC a lot of the time, but with equal amounts of fixed HUD gaming.
I tend to use the PC around 6-8 hours at a time, so that is a factor that makes me worry?
Do you bother with any OLED panel saving stuff with it, or just risk it :P

There are two main 32" 4k OLED panels out there: one WOLED (from LG) one QD-OLED (from Samsung), up to 240hz.
LG / Samsung sell their panels directly or through third party (Asus, Gigabyte, AOC etc). Each panel has its own pros / cons - on a day-to-day use, they're pretty much identical.
Pricing will depend on where you live: in the UK, the 165hz version of the QD-OLED is usually the cheapest.

I left the various OLED panel saving setting as default and I can't see any issues at all. My usage is around 80% office / 20% gaming & videos.
There are also a bunch of long running stress tests online - check them out as well.

Honestly, regardless of panel choice, I would worry more about the ability to control the room brightness vs life of the OLED.
Either panel is not amazingly bright, so being able to control the room light is almost mandatory.

Thanks for your help, that's very useful!
