Which 4-bay NAS?

After losing 1 of my external backup drives and the imminent sounds of failure coming from one of my primary's I'm in urgent need of some new storage.

The question is which NAS to get, I'm looking at a 4-bay enclosure so I can expand capacity when needed.

Currently looking at the Seagate BlackArmor 400 & Synology DS411J

Anyone have experience with either of these or recommendations for an alternative 4-bay enclosure.

Upper-limit is ~£260 for the enclosure itself.

I always recommend Synology, good combination of hardwar and software. My 3 year old NAS still gets regular updates.

I looked at the blackarmor, particularly some of the youtube reviews and it sounds good but i heard some bad things about its performance

You really cannot beat it with any of the prebuilt NAS' and there are lots of OS's thata re just as simple as theirs that you can use on it.
