Looking to buy a 4850 but with so many types which is the best? from what i see its the HIS version and is the 1 gb version a lot better than 512mb?

Most people say that there isnt much difference in performance between the 512mb and 1gb.
Personally i would save the cash and get the 512mb.
Cooler wise the HIS IceQ has the best cooler, i think, due to it pushing the air out of the case, and by the looks the gainward cooler does this, and really i would just go for the cheapest between the two.

But cooling wise i would think bother are equally matched cooling wise and noise.
 
+1 go for the cheapest and if cooling noise matters to you go for a dual slot cooler. 1gb not really worth it on a 4850 (and debatable whether it's worth it on the 4870).
 
Well i went for the powercolour 1gb version with the copper cooler and havent been disappointed yet, its very cool, idles around 28 degrees for me.
