which 5770

I have 2 shroud cooled 5770 in my main PC and a single egg cooled 5770 in my GF's.

I can see and hear RIGHT NOW that the egg coolers are better? Why do you dispute this?

Because keeping GPU temp down whilst sacrificing ambient case temp isn't worthwhile. I'd rather keep the heat exhausted out of the case even if it involves a few degree rise in GPU core temp.

It's not like they run hot.

This is why I want the reference cooler as well. I want that heat out of the case, especially in crossfire.

I'm not totally sure how the air flow of the egg-coolers works... but if that means one card is blowing hot air directly onto the back of the other card, then perhaps not.

But really, the biggest difference is in noise levels, and being a silence freak, the decision is easy for me :)

They are radial fans so the heat just gets scattered around. It's up to the exhaust fans to remove it from the case.

well ive got the xfx with the original cooler and the asus with the stupid egg shape cooler and both sit in the high 20s when idle and have been fine so far, never overclocked them as dont need to really

I don't even seen the point of the vapor-x as temps aren't really ever an issue.

Noise.

The Vapor-X is soooo much quieter than the stock 'blower' cooler.

I went from an XFX 5770 to a Vapor-X 5770 and the difference is night and day when under load.

Goods Shipped:

Finally! :D

I don't mind if its loud under load. Usually when I'm gaming, I'm gaming with sound. When the gaming ends its no longer under load so should quieten down!
