I'm looking to replace my 60GB Vertex 2E system disk with something new so I can then use that with Intel SRT for my RAID array. I'm not sure what to go with out of these. It will be holding my OS and apps.

- Maximum Read: 535MB/sec

- Maximum Write: 475MB/sec

Corsair Force Series 3 60GB SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive - £76.99
- Sequential read speeds of up to 525 MB/s
- Sequential write speeds of up to 490 MB/s

Kingston 60GB SSDNow V+200 Drive - £79.99

- Max Write: 460MB/s

Corsair Force GT 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - £86.99

- Sequential write speeds of up to 495 MB/s

Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - £79.98
Controller: Marvell
Read Speed: 550MB/Sec
Write Speed: 110MB/Sec

Anyone have any thoughts?

The crucial, simply because it is the most reliable out of those and since it's holding your OS and probably your most used programs reliability is key.

Thanks I hear lots of good things about the M4 but don't quite understand why the write speeds are quite so low?

Isn't there something to do with the Sandforce Controller on the Corsair though to do with compression which makes the Crucial M4 superior?

The write speed of the M4 64Gb is half of that of the 128GB version which is my only concern even though everyone says how rock solid they are. I probably wont be writing to it much once the OS and apps are installed though I guess

To be honest I don't know, they are both the same but with better write speeds on corsair, all the firmware updates have fixed the problems, mine came with newest firmware
