Which 640gb ?

Question as title really - which 640gb is the one to go for ? Samsung or Western Digital. I'd appreciate as many opinions as possible, I'll be ordering soon. I'm currently leaning towards the WD as I've bought a few of their drives and they've been faultless. Noise levels are important to me though and I know Samsung have a history of being very quiet.

Access time of the Samsung is a bit higher than the WD. Is that to do with these settings you guys are talking of ?

So Fobose's HDTune shot of RAID1 WD's with an access time of 12.2ms is about as fast as you'll get with new 7200rpm drives ?

The single platter 320gb is the WD3200AAKS. Be careful though as the old 320gb is 2x160gb, and the new one is 1x320gb.

I was the original starter of this thread and could not decide what to get for aaages. Ordered the WD yesterday morning and it was delivered today.

Not sure how to set my drives up, still haven't decided. I also bought a 2nd Raptor today of members market. Now got - 2x74gb Raptors (maybe try RAID0 as op system boot drive), WD5000aaks (might sell on members market) , WD6400aaks.
