Hi All.

Ive been having issues with my pc for a while now. Just suddenly restarts, usually while gaming, then gets progressively worse until it wont boot at all.

The next thing i want to try in a new psu.

Spec is i5 10600kf, 16gb ram, one or 2 ssds. Gtx1070.

650w should be enough for this system correct? If it turns out the gpu is knackered, really hoping not, then, in theory at least, id replace it with a 3060. Cant see m3 going much higher than that.

Semi modular at least. Sub £100 would be nice.

I have seasonic x series now, i had corsair before then, but the favourites seem to change over the years, so many in the corsair range now, and at different power ranges too.

What is best bang for buck, solid reliability at the 650w range right now?

Corsair rm? Tx? Cx? Also, RM650, RM650x or RM650i

Superflower or seasonic maybe?

Thanks guys

I’ve seen the price of that adata unit, best go for one of them as it’s gold rated with a 10 year warranty and is a top tier PSU. I just went with my usual supplier for the EVGA as ordering the adata would be a pain in regards to getting the VAT refunded as I’m in Jersey and high delivery costs.

If you’ve ordered from where I suspect you have then looking at other suppliers you’ve saved a lot of money. It’s not that it’s a cheap PSU rather the supplier is selling it at a much lower price than elsewhere. You’ve done well.

Got my EVGA 750W Bronze the other day, all installed and working fine. In hindsight I would have preferred the ADATA Core Reactor 750W which would have cost me £ 8.34 extra after the VAT refund.

But it was much too late to cancel my order as it had already been despatched, not worth paying to send it back for cancellation when it does everything I need it to.

For the price I paid you can only usually get Bronze units, that Core Reactor was a very special deal.

Review of the new model here & they do touch briefly on the comparisons with the old model in the conclusion.

Thanks for the link. Sounds like an improvment. I have a 10 year old Corsair HX850 in my machine at the moment but the fan on it is getting pretty loud so think it might be time to replace it with a newer quieter model.

My CPU is just a Ryzen 3100 and my PSU an older Geforce 980. I think a 650 watt PSU will be fine even if I go ahead with my planned upgrade to a Ryzen 5600 and Geforce 3060 later this year.

I believe Seasonic is the best, technically, as long as you're not too price concious.

The most I’ve ever paid for a PSU was my new EVGA 750W Bronze at £ 58.32 ex VAT. Prior to this it was a Corsair HX 520W at £ 56.69 ex VAT back in 2008 and I bought my Antec Basiq 550W Plus for £ 52.00 ex VAT back in 2010.
