which 660 Ti

You haven't looked at the benchmarks have you. 90% of the time the 7950 beats the 660TI. And whats wrong with the ATI card? If its something against the brand then his loss on price / performance.

This. There's basically no difference in brands now other than preference. Sure, some driver issues come into mind - but that's the same with both brands.

Red or Green - If you can get better performance for the same price or less, fanboy-ism is silly.

If he is insistant on a 660i, then I would wait until prices had come down from the launch prices. Is there anyone who can lend him a card to get him over this period. Personally I would go for the cheaper/similar performance option in the 7950.

Why do people basically get spoke to like a lesser being if they just want to stay with one brand? It's ludicrous. It's their money, their choice. If they're adamant then either step out of the recommendation thread of choose something in line with his requirements.

Jesus.

Shows that the 660TI is better in BF3

At stock clocks theres not much between the cards but the 7950 can overclock as much as 50% which puts it in another league even from a ti660 oc. If hes not into overclocking then he should stick to nvidia as thats what hes used to and most likely prefers.

For not to much more he could go down the gtx670 route with this

There are some nice prices around on oc model 7950's atm for the same price as ti660 cards which makes it hard to recommend a ti660.

On the bf3 front amd just released a driver that boost's there performance in this game.

Imginy posted his 3Dmark11 results and his Card beats my stock 680. That is very impressive and I am starting to see this card as a good buy. The price is a little high but if it can compete and surpass a 680, a bargain to be had me thinks :)

The bars on the graph looked miles apart, but when the camera zoomed in, there was only a few fps at most between them. :D
