which 660 Ti

Why? as shown in the video by linus tech tips they out proform the HD7950 and only cost £20/30, and you get things like Physx

The guy works for a company that would benefit from selling lots of 660ti's so of course Whimpus would be talking it up. Look at more established sites like toms hardware or better yet Anandtech there results puts the 660ti at about 7870 performance for the price of a 7950.

Given your friend doesn't want sli, 3d vision or to oveclpck he might as well get the better value card. Stick to MSI and Gigabyte though as they have best warranties and customer service.

Shows that the 660TI is better in BF3

??? Did you watch the review or read the comments??

HD7950 OC - 58.4FPS
GTX660TI PE - 61.4FPS

Both cards have the same minimum framerate of 34FPS.

Here is the Sapphire HD7950 OC tested:

£240 and it has a 10MHZ extra overclock which means it is more or less running at stock clockspeeds. This MSI HD7950 has an 80MHZ overclock and costs the same:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-148-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1673

With nearly 10% extra clockspeed, it is likely to be as fast or slightly faster than the MSI GTX660TI tested in BF3.

The MSI GTX660TI Power Edition was used in the review and this costs £264 from OcUK. In the US it is cheaper than the HD7950 OC AFAIK.

The MSI card is also overclocked to 1019MHZ at least, which is around a 100MHZ overclock, and this means the stock clocked GTX660TI will be a decent amount slower.

Going with the MSI HD7950 3GB will give you a £24 saving over the MSI GTX660TI Power Edition. Compared to the stock clocked EVGA GTX660TI,it is a similar price, faster and has a better cooler.
