Which 7900GT

haha thanks a lot :) will be much appreciated just not sure if 9293 is the right score for this? as my x1800xt got more than that, just want to know if running in single chan could be affecting my score
 
Those are pretty impressive scores wellibob, only a fraction off my sli 7800Gts at stock.

You need to get yourself a dual core cpu now :)
 
hmm i'm hoping that running single channel memory is hindering my score heavily then as i'm only getting 9293, wellibob do you think you would be able to do me a huge favour and run a single test of it with your ram in single channel? :D
 
As much as i have confidence in what im doing with pc`s, i dont intend to remove the ram as it is. I cleaned out my case several months ago, and i couldnt get the ram to go above a certain limit, and after i bulit it back up again, keeping everythink the same as before, it suddenly decided to go higher !!! :eek: Main pc has 4 sticks of 512, and its a bit unusual for it to do as well as it is, so im leaving it be for now.
 
not a problem buddy i'm just being impatient i want my new board to arrive lol :D nm will wait and find out this week. Strange thing happen earlier with my card actually i clocked it up to 550/800 ran counterstrike 1.6 and started getting tearing half way up the screen all the way across whenever i made a movement, but i tested the card through coolbits and it had no problems :S
 
As already said, go for the cheapest.

I wouldnt read much into the 06 result. Whilst ive been messing with the card, and other components, somethinks not playing ball , im getting random freeze ups. Im in the process of trying to find out what ive mashed up :confused:
 
Just installed my new XFX 7900GT last night. My x2 is still at stock, but with the GT running at 550/1760, I got 9160 in 3dmark '05. I would say this indicates that your 9293 is probably low, considering the speed of your cpu. I'm hoping to get a good increase when I get my x2 overclocked. I had it at 2.55ghz in my MSI Neo2, so I'm hoping to get up to at least this or slightly further in my new Asus A8N - SLI Premium.

I know one thing for sure - I'm definitely getting the Zalman VF900 pretty soon! The stock cooler is a bit noisy to say the least!
 
Im pretty amazed at the 06 results from a single 7900GT. 9160 is amazing in 05. At stock mt sli 7800s get 10,700 so thats pretty impressive for a single card.
 
The thing that amazes me about the 7900gt is how cool they run. My 6800ultra would hit 85-90c under load, whereas the 7900gt barely goes over 60c. The memory doesn't even have any cooling and it hits 1760 no problems. I can't believe that I paid nearly £400 for my xfx 6800ultra, which wouldn't even run at the factory overclocked settings of 425/1200! I then pay £250 for my xfx 7900GT, which so far is easily 50% faster!

So far I'm loving this card!!! :D
 
my galaxy came with a nascar game, its still in the box, and ive set the GT back to stock, till i get some conductive paint. Well i`ll coolbits it for sure
 
My XFX Extreme came with a copy of COD2, which is good because now I have 2 copies, I can play against my son (and get my butt kicked :eek: ).
