which 7970?

Hmm...not sure if either are voltage locked or not, but I'm thinking the Sapphire card will have better build quality. The price for that VTX is good though, caught myself looking at those recently. :)

The VTX is unlocked voltage due to being a ref board, so 1.381v maximum.
The cooling on the core is ok, no memory cooling and sub par VRM cooling.

If you're sticking with stock cooling go with Sapphire, if you're planning on watercooling or getting an aftermarket cooler then go with VTX, i've had two VTX 7970s and both have been fine, no coil whine etc. First one died when my PSU went pop though =( (decent clocker as well, so gutted)
