hi guys
just a quick one,ive currently got the asus 8800 gts 320meg,320 version cos i dont intend on using anything bigger than 19".im looking at going sli so should i get another asus 8800gts or 2 8800 gt's?or would i be better off going for 1 ultra?im getting 12282 on 3dmark06 so im getting a pretty good performance.also would the drop in memory interface from the gts to the gt be a bottleneck?.....thanks guys:)

Just get a single 8800 GT, or the new GTS next week (depending on your budget), Ultra is not worth it now, GT will easily cope with 19", and its a lot faster than the GTS as its GTX performance, i went from a 320mb GTS to the GT and it absolutely trounces it, even with the 256bit bus, on my GTS i could only use 2x AA with Supersampling, any higher would be a lag fest, with the GT i can use 16xAA with Super in just about everything (at 1280x1024), it abslultely destroys the 320mb GTS. :D

320mb GTS SLi is pointless as your still going to be memory limited to 320mb, which is no good for newer games now which require more for bigger textures, AA/AF etc..., so your going to get no benefit at all from having 2x in SLi.

imho, either stick with your current card until the 9800s

or get a new GTS when they come out.

Stick with what you got for a bit longer, but if you must a 8800GT or the new 512MB 8800GTS would be best value, GTX/Ultra if you don't mind spending a bit extra.

GTX/Ultra a worthless now (unless gaming on uber res's), theres no point spending £260+ on a GTX when he can get a GT for less than £200 thats gona give him the same performance, especially at 19", just chucking money away there, may as well save that extra £100 or so.

ok so would 2 gt's be better than 1 of the gts's that is coming out?i have a buyer for my gts if i decide to sell so that will pay towards one gt:)

I guess it depends what games you like to play? and how much eye candy you like?

well if the differance in the new gt's over the old gts is as great as you say it looks like ill go for 1 gt:)but how would 2 gt's cope with my 40" sony? or 1 for that matter?.
