Which 8800?

Was pretty set on the EVGA 8800GT "KO" (512Mb)

But in another thread was recommended the move to an 8800GTS (512Mb) (was looking at the BFG one).

But just from looking about, another contendor has entered. The XFX 8800GTX Extreme (768Mb)

Of the three, which one would you recommend? (Or what about an even higher OC'd 8800GT?)

I have the BFG 8800 GTS OC and it is a bloody LEGEND.

However, I would've bought an 9/8800 GTX had I the space in my case.

Also, depends on your resolution.

The problem with resolution is im currently using a viewsonic 17" display for games which is a native res of 1280 x 1024. It is a dual monitor setup tho (but again, only one used for games).

Will be getting replaced at some point in the near future tho.

depending on how big will influence the decision. a 24, or 1920x1200 screen will do best with the 8800GTX, while a 22" screen will do best with the GTS...

Where you don't know what screen you'll go to, and the prices of 24" ones on the way down, i'd prefer to cover my bases and get an 8800 GTX.

Even if you end up with a smaller screen, so what! Just means you've got graphics grunt to spare.

i can certainly reccomend the 8800gts 512, currently using 1 with a 24 inch lcd at 1920x1200, plays all my games (bar crysis) without any problems, great overclocking cards as well.

but.. for higher resolutions get the GTX
