Which airport has the most "checks"?

Not most checks, but most ******* anal about their liquids policy - Manchester. They're the most picky people ever. Basel are like whatever, just chuck it in a bag. Manchester - if the bag doesn't seal, can't take it. If you have more than one sealed bag, can't take it. I think they just like ******* with passengers to brighten their miserable days.
They say excess liquids get destroyed.

I doubt that at all. The security staff probably have never bought toiletries or booze since the restrictions were introduced or when the staff started their jobs.

I saw a lady in the next security line to me at Manchester. Her bag of liquids was about 50x60cm - not the 20x20cm. She was kicking off! I didn’t see what happened.

The only liquids I have on me on travelling (have hold luggage) are lip balm as the air quality on planes dries my lips big time. Then my inhalers. Though two are powder form - I don’t want my meds to be chucked. Though carry my latest prescription form with me just in case

In the past I have used a resealable food bag from a supermarket for my liquids.

Then go to EMA - they gave me a new bag. Why? As didn’t like the white panel that people put date and description of contents. This area is only about 2% of the bag.

How effin petty

In general, particularly going into NZ, I found it quicker to go through the declare route. If you're ever unsure about anything always go that way, I'd had my bags checked and on my way far quicker than people heading through normally.

It been at Helsinki airport for some time now I went through last year it great, I don't bother to much on the liquid side anyway.
We only had a short enjoyable chat in Helsinki when they were just deciding whether cheesecake was a solid or a liquid.

One of my favourite airports.

Belfast International (which has improved greatly since the troubles era) would not accept my see through bag that was entirely see through apart from a translucent ikea branding despite being under the size limit and containing one thing. Had to buy one of the ones from the dispensers and rejoin the queue although I found one fortunately. The security queue there a used to get so bad a couple of years ago as well that people missed flights regularly because of it but that's changed recently.

I tend to find UK airports are the hottest. Shoes off, belt, watch and wallet. The next you you are standing there in yer pants
It varies each airport and then security guard, based on my experiences. I take a lot of electronics with me - iPod, Kindle, phone, camera plus the various cables, USB plugs, power packs and myself wearing my FitBit. Fortunately I carry the cables, USB plugs and power packs in a single bag within my hand luggage. One airport, I had to empty the entire cables etc bag.

Back to your point - is why I wear slip on shoes and elasticated trousers when traveling.

I refuse to carry an empty bottle in my hand luggage after a friend got hers confiscated. At least the vending machine past security in Larncara past security had 75cl bottles of water for a euro.

I got one of plastic belt off Amazon that are for getting through airport security, then I have my normal one in my bag.

It's weird I can go months with not asking for my shoes to be taken off but sometimes I do at Stansted.

UK is by far one of the easy one getting hand and body swabbed and bag swabbed for drugs at a lot of European airports.

Its been many years so I cant remember what the security was like when I went to Lagos and Erbil several years ago, but based on the fact that I had armed escorts to and from the airports on both trips Im sure it wasnt great. The one thing I do remember is having to fly from Lagos to Port Harcourt and back, no issues on the way there, but my bag never got put on the plane in Port Harcourt, so ended up having to wait for it to come on the next flight 4 hours later. Turned out when we boarded the plane in PH we were supposed to point to our bag in the pile of luggage sitting under the plane say thats mine and they then load it. About half a dozen of us had no clue on this and then had to wait in Lagos for the luggage to arrive.
