Looking to build a new rig. Nothing fancy and based around an Intel 8400 cpu and some faster memory (everything else taken from sig). There are so many versions of this Mobo Im confused. I really dont need Wi-Fi as my pc sits next to my router and isnt likely to move any time soon.

So for a pure gaming machine which I may overclock at some point - would the standard P5K do for my needs?

Cheers,
Simon

you just have to work out what features you need, then take the cheapest version that has them.

i.e.
wifi
raid
firewire
esata
memory (ddr2/3)

if you don't need any then get the basic one.

I dont need any of the above other than DDR2 of course. Would a P5KE offer me anything over the standard P5K if I do decide to overclock?

P5K-E has voltage dampner to stop vdroop, P5K doesn't AFAIK.
