Which ati graphics card is faster - old DDR3 v new DDR2?

as said the 4650 should still be faster regardless since it's 4 generations newer..

on a side note 1gb is pure overkill for that card. how much are you paying for it and what is your budget? maybe we can recommend a better card?
 
I recently bought a HD4650 512mb for my media centre - shop gave me 1gig model!!

Anyway Im thinking I might go back to my old onboard graphics nForce 7 as Its silent.

Im building a PC for a friends and will sell them my 4650 or Ive just found an old x800xl - which one should I keep?
 
Well the x800 will be a couple of shader models behind, so the 4650 will be able to do a few more spangly effects that the x800 can't.
