Which ATI Model

I consider Sapphire to be the best.

Because they bundle some good stuff with the cards.

ALL The cards are made by ATi so don't let a Brand name put you off :)

HIS with their new ICEQ3 cooler i have the X1950XT model and its super quite even when in games :). Plus HIS Seem to be value for money. Power colour have a AC Acclero on their X1950pro models which are supposed to be pretty silent. I think the new sapphire (i think it is, im falling asleep) is supposed to be a good overclocker and silent :).

If you still can't make your mind up, just run a google search for reviews on the exact cards.

The HIS ICEq Coolers do seem to do a very good job and give a nice bit of overclocking head room.

Which ATI manufacturer is the best? HIS, connect3D, Sapphire, powercolor? It's all so confusing
Up to recently I would have said Sapphire. I've used tons (well 20+) of Sapphire manufactured Radeons and they all been spiffin! However over the last year I have tried a few different brands, Power-Colour are actually really good although my first one (X850XT) was DOA lol . . . just had a play with a Power-Colour X1950 and again I found that really good. Just installed my first HIS card a week ago and I have to say, its pretty hard to beat, everything about the HIS cards seems pretty high end (packaging, bundle, heatsinks, fans etc), you kinda feel the cards should be a lot more expensive. My first HIS card had a 'slight' fault with the fan, made a small 'rattle' sound which i found annoying, however I've installed a second HIS card and its the bees knees (i.e it meets my expectations!)

Thanks a lot guys, i'm torn between the Connect3D X1950 XT (£164.49), Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 XT (£176.24) and the HIS ATI Radeon X1950 XT ICEQ 3 TURBO SILENT (£196.21)
Is the HIS worth the extra money, the specs look the same to me :p
unless you intend not to upgrade your graphics card for years I would suggest you not get any of those cards and instead save a bit of moola££ and pick up a X1950 Pro. If your a stubborn type and insist on buying an XT then grab the HIS if you like a 'quiet' solution, by all accounts the stock X1950XT cooler is um . . . LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!

The HIS is clocked a little bit higher but i certainly wouldn't pay that much for it :|
Well if I had to live with it I would take the quietest model, but I agree it's not worth spending that much when the HIS/Power-Colour X1950 Pro's with 'QUiet' cooling can be had for £50 cheaper, thats £50 towards your next upgrade after DX10 hardware has settled . . .

your forgetting the awesome cooler thats mounted to the his . . .cooler, quieter and looks better.
lol, lOOks better! Funny to think that people buy things for their lOOks :D (I do! )

HIS X1950 Pro (9/10)

Hi there

HIS - Do Turbo/Overclocked versions of nearly all cards. Better and quieter coolers over the competition with ICEQ3 range and their prices are always very competitive. :)

cool, i usually game at night so i think the HIS is the one for me :) Hmmm next question on the HIS X1950pro will i notice much difference between the 256mb and 512mb running on a P4 3.2ghz and 1 GB of RAM? If 512MB is better is it worth going for the Connect3D X1950XT for an extra £12?

The sapphire is a good all-rounder, plenty of kit as standard, and it looks pretty :D The HIS will be faster though as standard, and should run a lot cooler. That's if you actually get the kit you are supposed to with it
