Which Backup Software are you using for Server 2008 R2?

Do you not do an integrity check before ejecting the tape by restoring something off that nights backup?

I'm actually curious how many people do this or not? sorry for the slight hijack :p

We do a restore test every 1-2 weeks

Using backup exec 2010 R2 here, soon i'm going to be setting up a system of using WSB in server 2008R2 to do some full system images and various backups. Mainly to test it out as a free alternative, need to setup some scripts to move things about though as when backing up to a share it'll only keep one backup.

Bakbone's Netvault backup and Netvault Smartdisk

Ever done a successful DR test with Netvault? No matter how much we tried we never got a successful recovery of our AD in a DR environment using Netvault (2000 DC then 2003 now 2008R2 well.. the 2008R2 box never even backed up without errors) and at the time Bakbone were as helpful as a chocolate teapot. In the end I had to do a Windows backup of the DC which was restored during DR testing without issue.

We are now virtualised and use Veeam, which is quite possibly the best backup solution I have used.

I've been meaning to test BackupAssist as a way of getting some bells 'n' whistles for WSB but haven't got round to it yet. It certainly comes in at a very good price point.
