Coupling with a RTX 4090,7950x, 64gb CL30 6000Mhz ram, and a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro.

Will be used for 3d modelling work,Unreal 5 work, rendering video editing and gaming

ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-E OR MSI AMD MPG X670E CARBON WIFI

Just from the tech specs (I have no idea about OC ability)

Carbon has the capacity for 2x full length PCI-E with 8 lanes each, but Strix only supports 8/4 config.

Carbon has 6 SATA, Strix only has 4 SATA.

Both have 2.5Gb LAN, but Strix uses Intel and Carbon uses Realtek.
Both have WIFI 6E, but only Carbon says BT 5.3 (Strix says 5.2).

Carbon has 2x PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slots and 2x PCI-E 4.0 M.2 slots
Strix has 3x PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slots and 1x PCI-E 4.0 M.2 slot.

If the Strix uses the 2nd full length PCI-E 5.0 slot (4 lane) or the 3rd PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slot, then the graphics card runs with 8 lanes.
If the Carbon uses the 2nd full length PCI-E slot (8 lane), then the graphics card runs with 8 lanes.

Both use 8-layer PCBs.

Carbon VRM spec: 18+2+1 (90A per)
Strix VRM spec: 18+2+? (110A per)

Strix lists an integrated AMP and includes DTS software.

In HUB's roundup, the Carbon had a lower rear PCB temp than the Strix.

Carbon: probably won't fry the CPU.
Asus: probably will fry the CPU.

The last part is a joke (maybe).

yeah thanks i watched this video before which is why its so hard to decide, its apples and oranges really they both are pretty much the same on paper.

i think i am only going to have one Graphics card anyway and probably just one or two PCI-E M.2 drives eventually.

i think the MSI slightly has the edge. although i have a 5.1 optical set up. just need to see if the MSI supports DTS or Dolby.

loved the joke btw lets hope those days are gone and nothing burns!

Any update on these two? they are still the front runners imho although Motherboards since posting look to be coming down in price which is only a good thing! ASUS still concerns me in terms of build quality and reliability.
