Which British TV show would you like brought back? but made different...

Only fools and horses? Hard to beat.

Last of the summer wine
Waiting for god
As time goes by (I really like this)
Rising damp
Bless this house
Terry and June

Lots of options!

While these were memorable for their time its probably better if they were left there for reasons like chemistry between the actors or something intangible that made them stand out, something so unique and quirky and unlikely to be repeated to attempt it would almost certainly result in failure.

Blake's 7 missed opportunity of having servalan in more latex.

A modernised version of the Brittas Empire would be good.

The Tripods

+1 for all of the above. I was actually an audience member for one of the Brittas Empire episodes actually got to see it made. Anyone who has seen Red Dwarf live will know how funny it can be. Cant remember which one now would have to dig out my Brittas Empire box set. Think it was one where something got blown up, maybe the leisure centre, seemed to remember a bomb involved.

Farscape but I dont know whether you would count it as 100% British
Ultraviolet
I also liked Bugs

and of course Torchwood.

Mrs Brown's Boys.

But make it a comedy?
I'm not sure what it was meant to be, but I'm sure it could be funny if they tried.

Was it ever said whether Goodnight Sweetheart was Lyndhurst going back in our timeline or to an alternative universes one?

It'd be interesting to see if it was remade but instead of a rom-com it was a Man in the White Castle style adaptation where the future person tried to influence the outcome of the war instead but without being "caught" as a time traveller i.e. who would believe them, could they actually influence anything etc.

The Tripods

Or at least finish it, the original TV series only covered the first two books.

Ultraviolet

Loved Ultraviolet, shame Joe Aherne never felt it needed a second series (I think it was more to the fact he was left to write the entire series and run of steam or interest).

Sapphire and Steel - keep it dark. Neil Cross' attempt to revive it failed due to lack of interest.

Leonard Rossiter is irreplaceable as Rigsby. Plus, PC would ruin his ignorant and bigoted character.

I'd love to see an updated version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I love the original series and even the recent movie adaption had it's moments, but I'd give my right arm for a long form modern TV adaption. One book from the Karla trilogy per season, 10 episodes per season. A dream come true.
Good call. I know they missed out the second book of the Karla trilogy as the production costs of filming in Hong Kong were too high but a proper remake of TTSS, set at the same pace, would be brilliant.
