Looking to pay under £20 a month for 2meg unlimited (2 meg is fastest we get in bideford :( )

needs to have enough used for my online gaming :)

any recomendations?

not sure on cable i will look now.

what will i need for online gaming then? cos i dont want to be going over the limit

The simplest answer would be to use something like DUMeter (or PRTG/MRTG/RRDGraph) and see exactly what you're using.

Ultimately, ADSLguide is your friend.

Edit: How much you use will depend on the games you're using, whether you're using things like voice chat, how much you play it, etc etc etc.

why do you need 2Mb for gaming anyway? its all about the latency, personally I'd go with someone like eclipse, but its inevitable they are going to break your financial restrictions instantly, the 1mb unmetered service they offer is £24 a month, the 2mb is 29.99 but they do capped services for as little as 12.50

excellent service too if I might add.

I'd be more inclined to go with Zen, going by the recent downward spiral of Eclipse.

And im not basing that on random forum posts, I have Zen at Uni and Eclipse at home so I am well placed to say how the two compare. :)

I've recently switched over to Freedom2Surf, 24.99/month for 2mbit and no cap, unlike most of the other ISP's which advertise no cap but really slap on a cap of 30-80gb a month. Also doesn't use packet shaping software like Plusnet started using, which is the reason I switched over from Plusnet.

If your primary use is gaming definitely get 512k, higher download bandwidth won't make your ping better.
