Which Build Would You Get?

personally the price of the i7 rig atm is geting lower in price than ever before so its very worth considering.

Stulid's and Fallen god's builds are well put together that is what you should go for :)
Also with a nice cooler to go with it you'll be sorted.

Its not my build, I just quoted Fallen God, and said its impressive and the price.

yeh i was looking at an i7 build before, i was just reading about the new 890fx boards that are being released in a week or two, i might just buy the latest am3 board and by the time i have saved up hopefully the phenom II x6's will be out.

like i said before, ive already got a cs storm scout case, corsar silent pro 500w modular psu, h50 cpu cooler, f1 hdd, LG Dvd-Rw, zalman fan controller and stuff.

I would suggest waiting for some in-depth reviews of the X6 before going out and buying an AM3 board. Considering the reduced price of the i7 920 (D0) at the minute - its a hard chip to beat in terms of raw power and overclockability.

well your gonna be buying it within the month so you can see how well the 6 core amd performace compared to the i7 and see which you like the most.

yeh i guess, its just most of the time i read that i7's are more useful for encoding, rendering etc, im not saying there not good for gaming, i think i just havent got the price drop in to my head yet, its not something i usually look at to be honest, i assume i wont be able to afford it. but im warming to it now.

i'd go for i5 750 myself since they all do 3.8Ghz + and once overclocked they sing in games.

And i like the fact the fact the new boards have Usb3.0

Id go for the i5, they're definatly superior to the AMDs, but when overclocked and gaming the difference is small.

The 5850 is the most gaming dependant component you can get especially gaming at 1900x1080
