Which Call Of Duty?

Get all of them, you're missing out :) The campaigns are awesome, then Cod4 or WaW(5) for multiplayer until modern warfare 2 comes out.
 
Multiplayer

CoD -> CoD2 -> CoD:UO -> CoD:MW -> CoD:WaW -> CoD3.

Only ever did CoD & MW single player through to completion so can't compare them all.

Out of those two, either MW or wait for MW2.
 
thing is CoD4/CoD:WaW are basically the same game but with different gfx therefore it comes down to what the OP's preference is concerning modern weapons and spam OR WWII weapons and spam ..



*for the record i really disliked WaW's demo, it was only after seeing the game in full and experiencing the MP first hand did i realise how fantastic it really was*
 
The only bits of WAW i liked were the sp mission where you are a gunner in a plane, and the zombie game mode, other then that it was rubish and unballanced. CoD4 is by far the better game.
 
After playing both COD4 MW and COD WAW, I would say go for WAW.

I have put a lot of hours into COD4 and confirm it is an awesome game but it's full of kids!

Could get both.
 
after owning and playing all of them, and wasting months and months playing them, i'd suggest you start at the beginning and work your way through them.

They still all have active servers, which shows just how good they are!
 
i prefare MW but also love WAW.i love the flaimthrower and older tipe guns but modern weapons are way better ,if i had to choose id wait for MW2
 
play them all, decide for yourself as if nothing else, this thread has proven that they all have their fans who will tell you theirs is the right opinion.

And everyone knows, there is only one correct opinion, your opinion.

I liked the Russian sniping campaign too, but everything else sucked.

COD 2 is the best game of the series I've played, although I haven't played them all.
 
I much prefer COD4 to WAW, the setting for me was much more interesting than the endless WW2 games out there, plus the missions on the whole were more fun for me.

I also preferred it to COD2, although again that might be because I don't like WW2 games much.
 
WAw online play(looks and feel) are far superior. Weapons and teams are far more balanced. WAW is by far the better game.

Neither 4 or WAW was designed for single player, they where nothing more than quick add-ons as people think it is needed.

For a "quick addon" cod 4's SP gained massively positive reviews/ratings better than most dedicated single player games.

if this is what Infinity Ward do as a quick addon they should turn their hand to a full SP game they would dominate the market.
 
All good games, played them all from release day and as each new one got released i dropped the previous one. COD4 sp was probably the best,

but i dont like sp that much (I still haven't completed WAW sp). WAW hardcore and custom maps does it for me atm, but when COD mw2 comes along its most likely bye-bye to WAW.
 
cod waw all the way, once you play cod waw you drop cod 4

ive played for a clan for over a year now and we used to play cod4 lots and i used to enjoy it until all the noobs started jumping around and shooting through walls etc

cod waw is more tacticle and less noobish, i hev just started getting into cod2 also which seems very good!

but whne cod mw2 comes out i will be giving that a try too...

i like all the cod games just cod 4 the least
