Which card?

I'd do what purgatory says, BUT, if the card has already been registered with EVGA and you only have 90 days warranty, I really wouldn't risk it TBH.

Ofcourse, you'll still need to keep the 285 - I presume your PSU is up to the job?

All he would need to do if the card was registered (which I doubt) is to send an email with a photo of the sales reciept and the card and they will register it for him. I don't see a problem with that. It's a great value top end card.

Also there is an EVGA Product Manager and Marketing, EVGA Europe on this forum EVGA_Nick. You could email him and ask him what the situation is on B grade cards and the EVGA warranty.

I'm sure he would try help you out if anything crops up. If EVGA had a great cooler like the ASUS DirectCUii I would have gone with EVGA and I know if I didn't have the ASUS GTX 580 and saw that deal I would have snapped it up.

I have a Coolermaster M pro Modular 850w PSU......

Case is a HAf932 so plenty of room and temps would not be an issue.

Not sure I want to buy a B grade, I would rather pay the extra tbh.
