It will be used for a bit of gaming but mostly video editing and photoshop work.

What case should i buy in this budget? Must have good airflow and lots of room. Ive looked around but they are all the same to me..

Thanks, Ben.

they look ok.. but make sure you don't cut yourself when building the system as they are unlikely to have rolled edges internally and those cuts take ages to heal.. and the blood makes a mess of the inside
of your case.

You could get a coolermaster cavalier 3 for a fiver extra, plus vat and delivery of course :)

Its a steel case with a aluminium front.

Just a quick hooray for the Rebel 9, i own the Icute version with the big fan on the side and its a very nice case for the money, rolled edges inside too.

Anyone have the white/black zen?

Thinking of getting this for a change, when i build my new comp. :)

Yes, I've got one. Used it for my new build.

Look, it's a £30 case - it's not going to be scintilating but, at the same time, pound for pound it's a corker. Unless you're spending over a grand on a new PC I would seriously question why you want any more expensive case - I'd rather spend my money on better components.

There's enough space inside for everything and it'll take a large CPU cooler without trouble (although it does have a cooling tunnel you'll have to remove). Physically the case looks a little cheap, but it's well put together. There are a few annoying details:

1. The power supply mount is a bit minimal making fitting the PSU harder than it needs to be.
2. You have to remove the PSU to get a DVD drive into the concealed bay at the top.
3. Although it has a screwless fitting system in the 5 1/4" bays, they fit the drive in the wrong position to aline with the concealed DVD drive bay! (or, did with mine) - you can remove it and just use screws though.
4. The USB ports on the front are upside down and the cover for them is kinda plasticy.
5. While it's not ultra cramped, there's not terribly much space around the mobo to work.

Against that:

1. It's cheap.
2. Those 25cm fans are whisper quiet, and produce good airflow.
3. Everything is where you need it.
4. It's cheap.

Why not buy second hand? Nothing to go faulty with used cases, although fans are one...I'd rather buy a £30 second hand case, rather than £30 new.

lian li are the worst for sharp edges

Noticed you own a Thermaltake :P

But how can you make that assumption? I've owned/own 3 Lian Li cases over the years, and cut fingers is not one of the problems I've ever had with them.

I'd quite easily say that Lian Li's are amongst the best engineered cases in the world today.

The Akasa Zen doesn't have sharp edges.
