6 of us are going to Centre Parcs on the 28th September. We've not booked yet but there are plenty of places left so no rush.

I've been to Sherwood Forest before but we don't want to go back as it's too close to feel like we're going on holiday (30 mins up the road)

I've been to Longleat a few times and really like it however it's much more expensive than the others.

So far the Elveden Forest is one we'd like to try but none of us have gone.

Anyone been to Longleat and Elveden care to comment. Any info would be really helpful.

Cheers :)

Elveden has had substantial redevelopment since the fire so may well have a lot newer facilities than some of the others. Always used to know people working there so we'd always get very cheap weekend stays. :p

Get me a discount code then lol.

I'd like to try Elveden as I've not been there. Just that Longleat is really nice so don't want to book without some reviews..

Been to Whinfell a couple of times, quite nice with lots of activities for kids. Of no help to you at all though as I have never been to either of the others.

Longleat has gone downhill a little recently. When i originally went there about 6 years ago, the facilities seemed a little nicer, activities were certianly cheaper and the quality of the staffing was better too. I went there again last year and was slightly dissapointed as we paid for a cabin with a sauna but it had not been cleaned properly and was a untidy around the edges. Considering how much you pay for Centre Parks, you do expect at lesat a clean cabin.

However, the swimming pool facilites are still great, the wave machine is wicked and the rapids are great too. However, the inundation of children AS IS TO BE EXPECTED, can get a little tiresom at times for older people (i was 26 lol).

However, the highlight of the stay was my girlfirend and i's trip to the spar which was fantastic. Definately something worth doing.

Hope the above helps. Oh and take your own bikes if you can as their's tend to be poop.

Elvedon is great. That and Longleat are my favourites. Infact I would say Elvedon is my favourite because its a) not massively hilly and b) activity centre is with the pool and central.

That's good to know. I usually stay really close to the pool at Longleat which means a long walk to the activity centre.

How do the rapids rate to Longleat? I love the rapids lol.

Last time I went to Longleat was 2007 and agree it's not as good as it used to be. Not done the spa before so may give that a try. Any tips as what package to go for?

We're going when the kids are back at school :)

Cheers for the info :)

I went to Elevden last year, think one things that's different from other sites is that it's flat!

The pool and most of the restaurants are in the centre of the park, we were in probably one the of the furthest villas from the centre and it was only a 10min walk, it was the Cedar area at the bottom middle of the map.
Only the spa and and golf are off to one side.

There's now a a cable water-ski on the lake (no 10 on the map, just above the Cedar area), they were testing it when we were there and it makes a pretty loud noise, esp as it's so quiet there.
I would avoid any villas that back onto that lake.

My girlfriend works at Elveden Centre Parcs at the Aqua Sana, we go up there quite a lot.

I've never stayed at the Elvedon site as its always been just a bit too close to home. (5miles) but have stayed at the Longleat and Sherwood sites. The Aqua Sana at Elvedon is supposed to have one of the best Spa's in the country!

I've been to Elveden a few time before the fire, which was ok. Not been since, but I'm told it's not as good as before.

Longleat rapids and pool is still the best.

But the layout of Elvedon on the whole is the best.

Are they worth an extra £200 though. I love the rapids there but will make do with lesser rapids if they're only slightly lesser lol.

No, not worth £200 more. Especially when you have to cycle up and down mountains to reach them.
