(should I have received a free month with the premium??)

You get the offer when you are signing up to Live (so theres no vouchers or code so to speak), even if you choose the Silver package, it should tell you about the 1 month trial.

Standard AA rechargables. Can swap out the batteries when they need charging so no downtime / playing with a fugly wire. Plus the batteries can be used in other devices as well. I love rechargables

Not reading any replies, because I'm a lazy git :)

I was pondering the same question a few weeks ago, as my wireless controller wenth through my last set of AAs. The Quick Charge Kit looked very tempting, a nice, elegant solution. Alas, it won't be out over here for a while. I needed power, and I needed it now...

In the end, I hiked (300 yards, in actuality :D) down to Argos and picked up a Uniross quickcharger with four 2700mAh cells. Total cost to me = £29.99.

Eek at getting the 3 red lights of doom when I plugged my freshly bought optical cable in. Turned everything off then back on and luckily it started fine

I would say P&C kit because you can play WHILST it charges :).
Or the quick charge kit where you don't need to charge through the controller whilst playing, since they'll already be charged!
