which choice non overclocker

965p or 650sli because they are generally cheaper I would say. Obviously whether you have any intention of using dual graphics cards will make a difference (965 - no dual graphics, 975 - crossfire for ATI cards, 650sli - Sli for NVidia cards).
It really depends what other features you want - how many sata hard drives, how many ide drives, do you need raid, would built in wireless be useful to you , do you want nice colours etc.
If you specifiy more of this kind of info, people may be able to recommend specific motherboards to you.

fits the bill, is reasonably priced & has a good reputation. It also happens to be good for overclocking should you ever change your mind. Finally, it sports some really disgusting playschool colours which may be a good thing or not.

It does but if you have a graphics card which takes up 2 slots, then you will lose (cover up) one, which will not be the case with first 2 boards I linked. If you have a single slot graphics card, it won't be a problem.
Thing is, if you aren't overclocking, then the high OC abilities of the board may be a bit wasted, as will the fancy copper heatpipes. Still, there's no doubt it's a stable, well liked board, so if you like it & think it's worth the extra cash, why not ?

Have a look at the ASRock ConroeXFire-eSATA II at £58 it's a fully featured ultra stable motherboard with the Intel 945P chipset - the only issue with it is that it doesn't overclock. It has every other feature you could possibly want (even Crossfire, external SATA, Intel RAID and Firewire) and it has your required number of PCI slots. Its a very, very good board.
If you'll consider mATX then the ASRock 945G-DVI even has decent integrated graphics if you like HDTV. And it's under £50 which has to be a bargain in anyone's book.

Right thats interesting ,so you would have gone for a cheaper board ? i,m one of those who believe that £180 is way to much for a board ,i know you get everything and the kitchen sink ! but do we really need it ? as long as it boots up and is reliable .melbourne720 said:
