Ok guys, I really haven't had the time to play consoles games in the past/game in general. Although now it seems some decent games are popping up for this gen and I would like to get my hands into them.

I'm a big racing game fan and have loved games like Forza/Gran Turismo series.

I have owned a ps3/xbox360/ps4 in the past. The PS4 did not live long with me, I just felt like it lacked something? Maybe it was the limited amount of games at launch? Never the less, I'm itching at the fingers again to purchase another, after having played Driveclub at a shop.

Although my second sense is telling me it's an itch, and after I've scratched it I'll get bored...Again this itch is the same with the XBOXONE and Forza Horizon 2.

I need the pros and cons of both. For me gaming will come first and then everything else second. Only plan on playing racing games at the moment.

Thanks.

It's likely to come down to the exclusives, take a look at the exclusives for both consoles and see what takes your fancy.

DriveClub looks fun, I'm on the edge as to if I want to buy it or wait for Project cars which is due out on both consoles. At lot of DC is broken at the moment from what I've read whilst they sort server issues.

At the moment the Xbox is the better choice by some distance imo, with two excellent Forza games.

If that is all you're interested in though kind of hard to say, no idea what GT will be like, personally haven't enjoyed them in a while and Driveclub looking incredibly average and lacking in a lot of features.

I think long term the PS4 will possibly be better though especially if you only care about games, obviously superior hardware and good exclusives but they are a fair distance away.

Get what ever you have most friends on.

I have both, if i had to get rid of one it would be the PS4 because i have most friends on XB1.

Both have their pro's and cons but they are evenly matched imo.

Out of interest why are you limiting your choice to just consoles? ATM the best platform for racing games is PC...

iRacing, Assetto Corsa, RFactor 2, pCars etc, etc, etc....

Most of my friends have XB1. They all play Fifa, something I'm not into.

The thing which attracts me about the XB1 is that I've never heard much of server problems.

GT7 interests me but that may be out in 2015/16.

EDIT: Only consoles as I do not own a gaming rig.

Are you friends likely to pick up racing games like FH2? If they are, then that's probably your answer.

I prefer PS4, but at the end of the day just choose the one that most of your friends own and that appeals to you the most.

Owned both consoles, sold the Xbox one after a few weeks, kept the PS4. PS4 is no doubt the better console but the Xbox one is leading for racing games at the moment. Driveclub is a massive disappointment at the moment unfortunately :( I've had it from release and not managed to get online once yet, hopefully the servers will improve by the weekend and I can give it some more time then.

Knowing the OP and how he seems to kneejerk at buying and selling consoles this seems a waste of time - Id say get neither until you actually can make the decision yourself - you shouldnt need others to make it for you...

:D Was waiting for you to post.

The problem I have is, I tend to get bored. I'm trying to actually find the benefits of both, but you can never get a perfect answer as it just turns into a major argument.

I've tried the PS4, and I could probably hold out till GT7 or project cars.

It's FH2, it seems perfect with the type of cars/open driving gameplay style that's attracting me. I'm not into exclusives much.

Honestly you sound like a high maintenance bird :p - seeing as you have friends that have next-gen consoles if you ever get the itch just borrow theirs from time to time?

Just seems more sensible than to repeatedly buying and selling them because the itch got scratched. I dont mean it in a bad way but it just doesnt sound like you need permanent ownership...
