Which controller for Virtual Console?

I'm looking to get a few titles for the VC, namley:

Super Mario World (SNES)
Sonic (MD)
Mario 64
Bomberman

I'm guessing for Mario 64 I need to get the Wavebird-type classic controller, but is this easy / good to use for the onlder games too? Ta

the classic controller is the best 'all round' controller you have to have it for SM64 but its optional for most snes and nes etc titles but its still really good to use with all the retro games

what about a Gamecube controller, it would work with most games surely?

Aye, it does. But the Classic Controller was designed with the VC in mind - it's perfect. Playing Street Fighter is awful on the GC pad due to the massive triggers and A button.

That, and the Classic Controller is just really nice - I've ended up with 2, despite owning 4 GC pads (1 Wavebird, 3x Normal.)
